02/11 - Assignment Reviews and Revision

We started today's class with fifteen minutes of reading from everyone's free choice books (or any class novels that are currently being read). At the end of this reading time, everyone recorded their progress on their reading sheets.

Our focus was then on returning work and reviewing class performance on some of our most recent assignments (book reviews and found poems). I presented the class with data and feedback on trends with these assignments including went well (+s) and areas where we will be focusing on improving (deltas). See graphs below. Everyone also had the opportunity to expand on their thinking with the assignment by completing the 100 level option (when successfully completed the grade for the assignment goes in as a 100).

In our review of performance on the found poems, we looked at examples of found poems from the original presentation of this topic:

This poem was done tongue-in-cheek when I realized 
that my own name appeared on the sheet as part of the directions. 

Everyone had the remaining time in the period to work on their revisions.
